saw on the news this morning that someone is sending out emails that purport to be from DHS, FBI or CIA. email claims that the USG has logged you on 30 "improper" sites or something like that. news report said do not/not open - the email is a hoax and the attachment (apparently the email requires that you answer some questions) may contain a virus. heads up. couple of people on several weapons/tactics forums i visit have received it - whereas i have not.

Its always a bad idea to open any attatchment with the following file types:
CMD HTA BAT VBS JAVA PL PIF SCR OCX DLL EXE PPS
CHM EML DBX HLP MHT LNK REG SHS VBE WSF WSH WAB
These are all used to infect users pc's by attatching an infected file to an email. They will appear like OpenMe.exe OpenMe.dll OpenMe.cmd
For the most part you shouldnt get any of the above files via email as an attatchment. If you have a family member that likes to send these file types you need poke them with a sharp stick.
