i need to add some memory to a desktop

no no mi not buying nuh new computer. it is only 2 years old.


how easy is it


just unscrew the casing and get to work....voila ??

yes pretty much voila!!!

but you have to make sure you have the right memory for the type of computer you are upgrading. It will also be important to know what is the max memory the motherboard can support

I am sure the tech experts will be along shortly.. but in order t o have them help you may you list the make & model

eg dell inspiron 3300 256Ram

oh ok.. when he sends you the memory ask him to send you a link to the video that shows how to insert the memory.

It is very straightforward though.

No problem to add more RAM Gen.

Here is a short video to show you just how easy it is. You have to sit through the commercial first.

But anyway, once your bro finds the right kind for your computer you should be able to have it installed in a few short minutes.

Just remember to unplug the machine and to ground yourself first by touching a metal, unpainted part of computer's case or the metal on the power supply. I'd also advise against dong this while standing on a carpeted surface. You want to avoid a static electrical charge while installing the new RAM module(s).

just got back the specs from him

the pc has 1GB in there and can fit up to 4GB.

so I am gonna replace the 2 useless (512mb) with 4 1GB (DDR2 SDRAM)

@ 18.99 each

The regular 32 bit tops out at 3 Gig ram.
The 64bit OS on the other hand, functions well up to 64 gig of ram.
So I recommend buying 2 iGIg sticks an use the 2 512Megs and top out at 3 Gig. unles you have 64bit operating sustem.

Gen, I added memory last yr to my old laptop and it was really simple. I thought I was gonna bungle something but I just followed the video Tuff Gong sent me and I was good.

like u said, just remember to ground yourself and you are good to go.
