The great Iphone Blackberry decision...if the BB is free...

would it be worth spending 199 on an IPhone if the Blackberry is free?

Both plans are exactly the same. They will give me the blackberry but I really had my heart set on the IPhone!

I don't the money to throw around so the free one is sounding best but will I be happy with it or be left wanting?

if you only have a phone for hi and bye calls and do not find it necessary to download every app on the planet then go with the BB....

I see a lot of apps for Iphone but I prolly wouldn't use them. Just want to have web/email access when I'm gone for the day and such.



ANYTHING is better than the old piece of crap phone I have now!

yeah go for the free one

in 2 years if you still want an iphone, then get it then for 79.00

plus with the touch screen you would have to build a &quot;burglar bar&quot; around it to keep it from getting banged up

Well as a iPhone owner and one who has used a Blackberry I have my opinions and they are very pro iPhone. The iPhone can just do so much more and is so much more user friendly IMHO.

With that said, for what you need and for the fact it is free, I would say go with the Blackberry option.

Thanks all...I am still conflicted. I'd prolly make a beaded doe skin case for the I Phone to protect it! I'm thinking I want to go with the I Phone. Maybe this week I'll take a stop by the phone store and see them both side by side in person. I think there was a deal with a 100.00 rebate so the phone would only be 100 then.

Nanook, don't you live out in the sticks?

Before you purchase either, check to make sure your area gets 3G network coverage as you want to avoid disappointment in regard to how these phones function.

iphone seems to be able to do more, as Milo said
But I like pushing buttons and hearing them click, not a fan of the touch screen.

Yes I live in the sticks! Barely get reception in the house but I can usually find a spot in my yard. Not so great when it's -20F below! I'm not so worried about the reception here as at home I have my computers but I'm in town a lot these days and don't want to drag my laptop all over hell. I think this week I'll go into the store and play with both phones and see how I like them!

OK!

You probably have the edge network where you are which will allow you to surf the web using your new phone but it will be painfully slow (think dial up). If you have 3G coverage then you can get much faster speeds but the 3G network is somewhat limited to populated areas. That's why it's good to know before you buy. Maybe ask the salesperson at the store to get you that info.

Have fun with whatever phone you get!!!

That's a great map! I am from good to no service in my general area. I think today I'll spend some time at the ATT store...
