How do I hook up my router to enable wireless printing?

Last time my son was home, he took my printer cable because something or the other happened to his. And me always seem to forget to pick up a new one when me deh out a road.

Mite me can set up di ting fi go wireless. Do I have to purchase anything to attach to the printer or the router? I plan on setting up a laptop and a desktop for wireless printing. The printer is a cannon. Dunno the model number cause me nuh deh home now.

Peps, di specific solution tuh yuh question, depends on how hold or new yuh printer is. Yuh may, or may not need fi buy suppen fi duh ie.

I think you'll need a printer server ti gi between the router and printer.

If the printer is Wifi compatible then all that is needed is the right driver, no?

My printer is wireless but it came that way. When you run setup CD it help you configure the wireless part.

But mi nuh sure seh you can do it with just any printer. Does it have an icon on it weh look so... <span style="font-weight: bold">O)))</span>

No magxx, fi yuh hav di wireless server built-in.

If not, fi mek ie wireless, yuh haffi eida connect it tuh yuh wireless network router (via cable), or buy ah small wireless printer server fi it.

OK, so it look likes I still need to buy a cable. Connect the cable to the router, then I can be print wirelessly.

So that must be a different cable, because the jacks at the back of the router are different than the USB inputs on the computer.

Me a go out a road later. If di electronics store dem nuh too pack up, me wi tek a look.

if your printer has an ethernet port pan it den it is net workable. If it is just ubs then you will need a printer server.
(mi learn dat from de one j-kid a few years ago)

Me nuh tink me evah see ethernet back deh. That printer is around 4 years old, so prolly not. It was the one that came with the puter bundle.

Yes Peps, &quot;D&quot; is correct. If yuh noh hav di Cat-5 jack back deh, an ah ongle USB, den di moas direct way is, yuh wi haffi get wan small inexpensive wireless printer server fi plug it inna fus.

According to the Canon website, this is a usb prtr only. There is no ethernet port on it. A print server will work, but some printers have issues with the little prt server devices. Only way to know if it going to work is to actually try it. Here is a link to one...

CompUseless Link Note the setup information in the comments. The advice is spot on.

If you have another pc on the network, you can load the prtr drivers on that pc and make that a server too.

But she would have to leave dat PC on all di time, or turn it on first each time shi waa fi print.
