are both Blackberry's. Mi trying to compare them, but mi coming into some issues with the terminology like: Smartphone and 3G...

Smaddy recommend Droid phone and Iphone, but mi not changing mi carrier. I happen to like Sprint...mi neva have any problem with them, so keep oonu Spint sucks comments to oonuselves

Well, fi you must have, numba 1 pon de list...wait fi it...Sprint sucks! Dem don't use SIM card, so might as well stop right dere. Until you decide which carrier you want to go to, you outta luck. Most people I know using T-Mobile, but I haven't been convinced enough yet to move from ATT.

For the terminology, a smart phone is generally a phone with with pc like capabilities. A blackberry is a form of a smart phone. 3G is the type of network. It is faster than the 'edge' network because it can transfer data faster. With some phones, you can talk on the phone and surf the web at the same time. I've been watching the droid. I've been impressed so far with the software, but not the phone. Waiting to see how the google phone work out. I like the iPhone, but after what I've done to my windows phone where it is just about perfect right now, for free, there is no way I would reduce myself to shop in the apple store or deal with the hassles of their jailbreak busting tactics. You have to jailbreak the iPhone to use it on another carrier. I know jailbreaking is easy, but to me, it's a hassle to have to 'fix' the phone when apple decide to do an update.

Now about texting. You might vary, but I found I really prefer my touch screen for texting, than using the keyboard. The phone itself have everything you have under nice to have. It's not made anymore, but the 2nd gen version is out. It's an ATT Tilt made by HTC. Other than that, suggest you look up the phones and go actually use them in the store to see if you like it. I was shopping t-mobile and before I decided on the Tilt with my current carrier, I played with the phones from different carriers, and read reviews before making a decision.

see you mek mi pull up di Samsung Ace weh mi have fi look in back...wah di white ting (ahn is not di battrey..daht is black) weh fava chip das not SIM card? when mi went to Brazil summer before last das what di man in di phone store pull out of mi phone ahn slip in a next one ahn di phone stawt ring.

Now wah mi fine interesting...when mi go Jamaica daht chip nu haffi swap out mi juss stawt use di phone. Yes, mi do have Intenational Agreement wid Sprint. Mi neva swap it out when mi use di phone in Europe eidah.

Now memeba seh mi is learning now...oonu tek time wid me.

Anyhow...you answer some ah di basics fi mi. Weh mi can go (online go compare) before mi go in Sprint to play?

Actually, you right. I had to go check. They didn't always offer GSM service. Last year when I looked, the selection sucked. I actually ordered a phone from them and specifically requested one with a sim card. The stupid sales rep sent me a phone that had NO sim in it. I looked up the 9630 and it does use GSM. Before the sim card that they had was proprietary. Looking at the international phones on their website, you should be good. The GSM is what you'll need so you don't have to spend their roaming charges. That's how you'll be able to swap the cards out.

The roaming agreement basically works if the phone is able to work on the foreign networks. If you can find service, and the phone is capable of the frequency, then you don't need to swap the card out. The benefit of swapping the cards out is cheaper service because when you add up the roaming charges, per minute rates, etc, the bill can get quite high. BTDT.
