adapting printer for Mac OS

New MacBook Pro, old HP LaserJet printer that doesn't have a driver for a Mac operating system, only has drivers for Windows OS.

Is there some sort of "bridging" driver that will make the printer work for a Mac?

ILP when the mac was ordered did the person who ordered for you not order a printer? They had a special where you got a credit toward a printer for $99 and the printer was $99.

That is how we upgraded the kids printer. It is now the fastest printer in the house but the one we use is wireless and we can scan wirelessly too

Hi, folks. thanks for ur replies. The printer is a HP LaserJet 1020. Already checked online and got reply that there is no driver for a mac operating system. that's why i'm looking for some sort of universal driver, or a bridging driver.

thanks, BlackStar. got off to a promising start but didn't work out, some of the steps did not match info i found on the computer. my cousin will continue to work with her local resources to fix this issue - it's good at least to know that others have encountered and overcome the same problem.

Sorry I couldn't be more helpful. Try googling for your exact OS version number and the printer model for more specific info. The Apple support forum is a good source too. I consult it when I have a spot of bother with my laptop.
