Friend's gmail account hacked....begging money

This morning a friend's email account got hacked and here is what they hackers sent . I have heard about this happening in facebook a few months back...be aware

How are you doing? Hope all is well with you and family, I know this might be a surprise to you but I am sorry I didn't inform you about my traveling to England for a Seminar.

I need a favor from you because I misplaced my wallet on my way to the hotel, my money and other valuables are gone including my credit cards. I will like you to assist me with an urgent loan of 2300 british pounds which is about $3800 U.S dollars to sort-out my hotel bills and get myself back home. This is one favor I will always show gratitude throughout my lifetime.

I will appreciate whatever you can afford to help me with and I promise to refund the money as soon as I return home. Please do this for me and I will be grateful.

I heard about this on the radio this morning. A local Politician had the same thing happen to him.

Except it was his MSN e-mail account, and his internet Provider was AT&T, he said.

They sent to all the people in his e-mail address book.

Said, he could not access account via his password, and had issues with connecting to internet after that. He spent hours on the phone with both MSN and AT&T clearing things up.

Someone hacked into my cousin's hotmail account and sent this to me twice recently.

Don't know if this relates but hell, I'm at my wits end!

People on my mailing list have been getting all kina fawt (some say Viagra links, others say gambling websites) that seem to be coming from me (as though I sent em.)

I have scanned and cleaned my history and so on. But it's still happening.

HELP!

One person clicked on the link within the email and now everyone on her mailing list were bombarded with the same crap.

I'm thinking that could be how I got infected, but I can't remember. I JUST WANT IT GONE!!!!!!

Nunya, which E-mail client are you using? Outlook, Web base (yahoo....), others?

Also delete the E-mail from your inbox and trash/delete folder.

Try Ad-Aware and Spybot-SD.

If dat noh wuk, try CCcleaner.

Tried ad-ware a few years back and that thing took over my pc. I had to have it professionally cleaned - so I'ma stay away from that one.

There are imitators out there and if you used the wrong one, yes that will happen. I and many others use Ad-Aware and never had a problem. I notice you said, &quot;Ad-Ware&quot; nnot Ad-Aware?
