I'm really excited about blogging and not because I'm a narcissistic, navel-gazer. I can actually take advantage of the free software and hosting to create a web site for my trade union. I can use the posts feature to add new content without having to buss mi [censored] fi mek evry page look nice.

Here's my site: forceouvriererfs.blogspot.com. It's all in French, but take a look and let me know what you think. I hope it doesn't look too "bloggy".

There are some things bothering me though:

<ul type="square">[*]I have a script to open popup windows, however the popups inherit the size of the window from which they were opened. How can I fix this? Click the text "mentions légales" in the footer to see what I mean.
I did try the width and height attributes on XP and OSX with IE, FireFox, and Safari, but to no avail.[*]Tables in posts drop to the bottom. How can I place them correctly? Here is the troublesome little [censored]: http://forceouvriererfs-documents.bl...a-cantine.html; it's also in a popup that just opens up any old size.[/list]Thanks in advance for any advice you can give me.

Are you able to edit the HTML directly or are you using some kind of program that autmatically creates the HTML for you? If the former, I think you can fix your table issue by removing the "height=100%" attribute from the TABLE tags.

The popup links are calling a script called "Popupwin" but I don't see the actual script on your page? I have a similar one and I need to put the height and width in the script, not in the link. So I think it may be a matter of your script missing from the page and it's just opening a new page because you have target="popupwin" in your links. Which does in fact open a new window of the same size as the old.

You were right about the script not being on the page. I hadn't copied it into the template - did that today and now the popups work as expected.

The table however is another matter. I removed the height attribute which didn't change a thing. It's quite bizarre because the table itself looks OK, there's just about 200 pixels of space between it and the title above. Must contact blogger.com support, because it seems to be some idiosyncrasy with their rendering. Once that's sorted, then I'll see about defining more attractive borders and shading.

I also added rotating images to the header so the pages aren't so static.

There are a lot of empty cells in that table, and multiple nested tables, you may try taking those out.

Basically, table tags in the blog post cannot have any line breaks between them. I also added a tbody tag because I read on a forum that it was needed. This is great, because I have salary data to present and wouldn't be able to do so without the tables displaying properly.

Also added an interactive dictionary I found on memodata.com. Click on a word and it gives the translation in English. Now how do I implement single click auto-translation for the non-French speakers? [img]/forums/images/graemlins/70402-thinking.gif[/img]
