I get my new AMX card.. and i call to ask something.. and find out the thieves tried to charge $3000 worth of stuff at officemax .. was declined.. they figured out how AMX systematically changes last few digits of an account...

so i start yet again.... im totally depressed.. this is the worst

The Today show talked about this this morning and one of their main pieces of advice was checking that credit report at least once every six weeks. So today I went and check Equifax and all was well. I also scanned all of my online monthly checking account reports, and all was well. This thing now has me most paranoid.

You sure they didnt put in a change of address form or something?? I don't see how they could have gotten ahold of your new amex number unless they are getting your mail or have access to your online account. If anything it would be prudent to change your passwords on any online banking/cc that you have.

no change of address form.. American express when they send out a replacement card.. just changes the last 4 digits.. guess they figured that out... dumb system... the whole number should have been changed...... will be the next time.... got detectives on the site that is passing the information... and hopefully at least my stuff will get secured in a matter of weeks.... its the process that is so upsetting.. and its taking a huge toll on me... never mind i have no idea really right now but for my license..... which in this day and age is not enough....

No way not the post office... i take part of the blame for answering a fake email from ebay or some such.. veryfiying some things.. not all that they have though... ive since had a security audit on my machine.. and i know what to look for when shopping............. but the saga continues....... just in the shower and got a call from some drug company about my order... said sorry.. thats fraud.. dont ship... they said not to worry... the card declined... amen...
