no you do not have to have a second line from bell.. but people who have dsl and want vonage may want vonage so that they can have a second telephone #

Kia, I got it now what you mean, and I see the potential savings if someone has regular Phone/DSL service.

Sweetssop, how can you guys in Canada get DSL without a phone service, I dont think the phone company allows that? Does the Canadian Govt. force the phone Co. over there to do that? To the best of my knowledge the CABLE people are the ones that has that option.

the way dsl works there is a need for a phone number (ie a phone line from bell) dont know how it would work in canada w/o a phone number.. because the signal is routed via the tn

cable service is more money than dsl service..
so if u have dsl, den it would be better to get verizon on that, becuase the cost (they have a special of $14.99)..
I just got that. I was being charged $40 dollars before I found out about the special [img]/forums/images/graemlins/70367-help.gif[/img]

Is $14.99 for the Verizon phone service or for DSL?

You have to add both the phone cost and DSL cost together, to arrive at your final expenses.

I use packet8.net.....haven't used a landline in about ...4+years...dem is too dyam tief....
