The only time I really have seen problems like this was when you had a large archive of old emails stored. Have you tried updating with Windows Update? What version of OE are you using?

Other than that please include any errors you get when trying to delete emails.

You may have some corruption. Try doing a SCANDISK (use the one that is thorough) on the "C" drive.

I recently cleaned out a boat load of old emails. Like over 1000... this happened after that. No error messages at all.

Jkid! [img]/forums/images/graemlins/70373-kiss.gif[/img] Will do a scandisk before I go to bed tonight.

Also, it's been behaving. No problems with deleting.

Now I need a new keyboard! Popped the H key off last night and lost the spring (old keyboard too) every so often it just starts typing hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh and it won't stop til I hit the backspace key or it throws h's in in the middle of a word. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]
guess I gotta go spend a few $$$ [img]/forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif[/img]

Yuh noh si which key it popped? The "H" key whe responsible fi producing such text as, hard on. It got soh excited him could not HOLD it an him spring just automatically release an reach it maximum extension to di point of total fatigue.

The folks at Firefox (Mozilla) have an email client - Thunderbird - and it is nifty....great spam/junk filters, easy to use, HTML support, easy to file and search messages.....

Thunderbird is ok but there is one thing that really bugs me....if you have more than one email account (I have more than 20) it likes to only use settings for one of them to send to all of them, well that don't work since username/passwords and SMTP/POP info are different for most. If you just have one email address you check then its great, but if you have more than one its a pain....at least it was the last time I installed it.

Try it again Reby, mine checks 4 different addresses and automatically responds with the appropriate one (though I can override that if I choose).

Also, no problem setting up different usernames, passwords, etc for each one.

I hav enever used Outlook, just too dangerous virus-wise, I can't be constantly doing security updates...plus I hate Microsoft [img]/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

My favorite was Pegasus Mail, used it for years, but it stopped being updated and after awhile I did need to get HTML email and some other things Thunderbird has.
