1 week and counting with no DSL a mi yawd. The next 'wonderful tech' that tells me that my network card needs replacing, I going tell him/her 'bout dem you know what. I'm on that network card right now working fine. 6 hrs on the phone so far...(sigh)

The poor people having fun understanding when I tell them there is no modem.

Using IFITL. Plug in directly to the outlet. Then use a PPPOE login. Just try telling these script reading zombies, that the PPPOE will not work if there is NO network connection. I created three logins this morning.

A know yuh pain. Yuh know humuch time mi haffi tell Ranjit(e'ry time mi call verizon a smaddy fram India ansa mi) bout im blood-clothes fi dem fix mi dsl??? Wan time, every time rain fall mi dsl woulda cut out

Finally sumady wid some sense. Him come a di house, I tell him problem wid the network card on his end. Him try him laptop and agree. Den him go outside. Hook up a rj-45 port to the NIC and same problem. Den him have to pass it on to somebody else. ARGH! Total time - 20 minutes. Seh it should be working when I get home. Well, ah get home and now have a network connection. Some eeediat change the password to the pppoe login, after ah tell dem don't touch it. Not a single one of the many computers can logon. So after me fix dat, mi back on the web. Den mi find out the router get lick. Oh well.

Maybe now me should call and cancell, but the only other provider available is comcast and dem not much better servicewise. Speed might sway me though. The 1.5mbs ifitl too slow now.

I agree .. LinSkinny ..to solve all dese prablems yuh jus havi lobby Verizon fi come run out di competitian.

FIOS is Godsend .. none a dat outtage every minute as breeze blow too hard and if yuh have a problem hardly any technicians needed to come out to yuh ..dem fix almost everyting fram di computer right before your eyes.

Watch those add wars against FIOS and Comcast and si where the battle lines are drawn Comcast loosing customas lef to right til dem all havi change dem name. Mi noh sarry di dem a tall

Oonu gwan a rub it in. I was in fact thinking of moving, but guess what? The new place, only one provider. Another cable company. They are not bad. 6mbps download is the top speed.

As fi Verizon...My current address and one I was thinking of going to: Them seh not available.

Yuh know mi was a cuss Verizon sey how could they let themsleves loose out on such a huge market by not being available in some places... den mi learn di politics of it and understand why dem cyan mek head ways ina some places

Because dem have to dig up side walks an go underground they need permission from a slew of state and local goverment and most a dem people a hear fram people sey dem noh waan dem place dig up.

Comcast had a commercial where dem a mock Verizon fi dig up people place an buss dem pipeline etc.. that is NO JOKE. It happened in our neighbourhood.

Wan peica drama when mi come home wan eveling. Police black aff mi street and bout 5 fyah truck line aff..come to fine out di Verizon (undocumented workers ) go buss wan GAS LINE and dem havi bruck dung di door of di house next to mi fi get rid a di gas and fumes building ina it. Could have caused a massive explosion. Luckily it occured with no one in the house thank God. I had to sleep elsewhere cause we were not allowed back in the homes for 24 hrs. So a Verizon carelessness why dem naah get noh bly ina some areas

At the above point in the story, I had to . How much can a body take?

I feel your frustration with customer service calls for just about any service you're getting. I used to get upset, take down names, argue back and forth, and ask for supervisors. Next thing I know, I'm disconnected. Call back and they have no notes from the previous convo in the record.

Now, I decide in the first 2 or 3 minutes if I'm going to stay on the phone with the rep. It is often easier to just call back until you find one with some sense.

Yeah Tulip .. an di people dem move outta di house one month after it happened.. I think the episode made them not feel comfortable in the home - who knows.. di house jus sell 2 weeks ago after 2 years
