Email from no one?!!?

I keep recieving emails from no one!! [img]/forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif[/img] [img]/forums/images/graemlins/70367-help.gif[/img]
It comes in with a subject, but no sender?!?!
I can't block them because there is no address to block.
Anyway, I have never seen this before. I'm assuming it's a virus.
I don't open them so, I really have no idea. I've scanned them with McAffee, but that finds nothing. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif[/img]

QK it could be that your ISP's server cleaned ur email as it was recognized as carrying a virus

It is a virus,just that it has been cleaned by your server.
Did you try "show all headers" function?
It may give you the info you are seeking.

Dat happen tu mi ONLY when mi get E-mail from one person in Canada, and I download the mail into Outlook on my PC. That same E-mail is viewed OK, if I use my web/bowser-base email account to view it before download. So what i did was to give that person an e-mail account address that allows me to forward all their mail to outlook, but still keep a copy on the server for me to still go online and view all their e-mail. When I see that problem occur, I just go online to read their stored mail only. The above is a quick fix.

Either outlook, my virus scanner or my firewall software is stripping out certain info that it don't like, but I dont feel like going through all the trouble to figure it out.

Ya I'd take a look at the header, the message could have been stripped by your mail server, or by anti virus on your PC. The header should have info such as the originating IP and any markers that have been added by scripts (such as "Attatchment removed" etc).

In outlook express I could find a lot of info thru properties, I'm not able to get to the properties via right clicking... [img]/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif[/img]

No don't open them, just delete them or let your virus scanner stuff them in the AV vault.

It will be emty anyway. There is nothing to see,because everything is usually stripped. the mail is sent as only a psychological reassurance to you that your server,is protecting you.

Turns out that they are from G2. The thing is she uses "Incredimail"

It has stationery and lots of graphics, smilies, etc.
Could this be the reason it's not getting thru properly?? [img]/forums/images/graemlins/70402-thinking.gif[/img]
I've scanned them all and they come up clean.

I just re-read your topic and I noticed you didnt say what email client you are using. From the sounds of it you have your email client set to 'plain text' mode. Have you tried switching it to rich text or html view?

Man...I hate it when they send me emails like that, I'm a purist and only read in plain text [img]/forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif[/img]

No Reby, the text setting is not her problem. She and I have the same exact problem. She can just do as I did above, or keep looking for the actual cause if it is still bugging her to not be able to use her Outlook mail client for that one sender. I would also like to know the Outlook solution but mi caa badda dig fi it fi jus one sender.

So its Outlook or Outlook Express? No offense folks but to try to help I'd need a lot more details. So far the above is fairly vague. Send me a copy of the original email and original header. Shoot it off to [email protected] and I'll take a gander at it. (Probably not a good idea to post it here).

Are we talking Win98? Don't make me post the link to 'how to ask a question' [img]/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif[/img] Please re-ask the question with as much detail as possible including your anti virus, firewall, any active adware/spyware memory resident programs (M$, adaware, Spybot, PC Doc etc), platform, email client being used etc.
