Well if you have to have free then you may want to try Quick N Easy FTP
I havent used it myself but it looks to be a good entry package. You can also punch in FTP server at Download.com for lists of ftp packages. You have to check each to see if its free but that should give you a few more options...or at least make it easy to find something you like.
