why Windows 2000 canot open some secured site and XP can and older versions like ME can open?

I try open in AOL and follow the instructions they give and still 2000 cant open

Hmm it could be a few different things.

1) Run Windows Update

2) Update your web browser (if using IE step 1 should do that, if using firefox go update the latest version from mozilla.org)

3) Check aol's support to see if they have posted a work around (I'd search but you didnt give a detailed error)

Other than that I'd need the exact error you get and what page/link you are getting the error to check it.

i use 2000 to open pcrichard.com to pay my bill, put in my password nd id and then it wouldnt go any further, but from my job - XP- it is smooth sailing. When i did have Me it worked

I cant say for sure but it looks like your win2k pc needs the browser updated (or possibly even the OS) to enter their secure site. Many secure login type sites will deny you entry if your browser isnt secure or at least version X.X as a safety precaution. That site doesnt list any requirements that I could see so I'm going to stick with my advice I gave above.

Run windows update and make sure you have the latest patches for Win2k and any browser you use (IE/FireFox/etc) then try to login again. If you are using Firefox and cant login fire up IE and give it a shot. If that don't work I'd try contacting the site and ask what's going on.
