NPR on a internet Radio help

I have just bought a internet radio.... I listen to NPR occaasionally on the computer from the main stream website.. However I want to program a couple NPR onto the radio.. Are there any NPR stations on the internet..

I have power 106, BBC world service, Radio 4, ABC talk radio.. australia broad casting.. so need the yanki perspective...

Try WGBH.org They are the largest public radio station in the US.

And of course it is affciliated to Harvard U.
There are others in the Boston area like wmur.org, wers.org, wgbx.org. to list a few.

Al are affiliates of local universities.

Incidentally public radio does not necessarily give the US persepective.

They give more of an intellectual perspective.

For the usual or main stream US views you probably could listen to the ABC, CBS, NBC, MSNBC, CNN, and FOX.

I listen to the two NPR stations in Boston and I know that WBUR (Boston University radio) has availability on the web.

Try to catch "Wait, Wait Don't Tell Me" which is a very funny and very informative hour-long news quiz show of sorts.

IMO NPR is no better than the networks as far as dealing with the real news.
For instance they won't call Israel a criminal apartheid state and rather than discuss why we are in iraq and Afghanistan they talk about tactics of winning the war.


Like the networks, NPR will almost never have Noam Chomsky or anyone you find at ZNET on their shows; no one from the real left but only liberals and a whole heap of Washington people, current Senators, Reps, military, right wing think tank people.
They "balance" their presentations by putting a liberal on with a conservative which eliminates the entire left side of things.

There is one left commentator who calls NPR: National Pentagon Radio.
He did a study of NPR and found that NPR consistently has a preponderance of establishment people on from the right and from the Pentagon to speak on foreign affairs.

This is why those who listen mainly to NPR for their news are almost as disinformed as those who listen to Faux News.

My favorite station is a local college based public radio station that does live streaming and is actually a pretty good kick butt music venue. It is not the talk variety NPR show if that is what you are looking for. But for music is has been voted best radio station in Minnesota many times. It is on 24/7

From 10am to 12pm (Eastern time) Sunday mornings there is a reggae show that is pretty fun. it is pretty new and was just boosted to 2 hours from 1. The host I believe is Trini and then my friend Prince Paul from Westmoreland sits in most of the time. They have a lot of fun and a recipe a week and things.

If you are a fan of Blues music, well then this is the place. Every Saturday afternoon from 11 to 3 (Eastern time) is Blues and on Friday nights from I think 5pm to around 9 is Blues Alley. Week nights is the Basement with lots of good tunes, none of them are commercial variety radio station music.


Anyway, if you are surfing for some tunes in those time slots on the net, check it out!


I also listen to my local MPR (Minnesota Public Radio) & WPR (Wisconsin Public radio) talk shows but not for news. There is a lot of good conversations on a wide variety of topics such as gardening and the WPR reads a chapter a day from a book each day at 11:30.
