My CRT monitor died over the weekend It was my very first monitor I purchased in the early 90s
I borrowed my niece's 15" flat screen, to her dismay and set about researching TFT monitors . Finally I found a 17" one that I thought would suit my needs now and longterm and the cost suited me.
I managed to set it up after nervously reading the sparse instructions (with diagrams) and still getting it wrong It's lovely but the small print is so small on this 17" that I had to change the sizing to 120 in the DPI settings
Anyhow I never realised how big a 17" is and it's great! Even my niece was a little envious but it made me realise how my sight has changed in the last few years. Can't see fine print like before.
Question: It came with a DVI cable which I understand is a digital connection but I don't appear to need. What's the benefit of this kind of cable? In any event my base unit doesn't have the fitting for it.
