What hardware do you intend to use? Are we talking Ipod or some kind of cell phone/jukebox type device?
Downloading music is harder than it used to be becuase of the RIAA/MPAA twits. I don't advise you download any copyrighted material unless its through an approved source (ie Apple's Itunes site). For the most part you are looking about $1.00 per song. Really that's not too bad since you can get the songs you like off an album, and not be forced to buy the fluff the artist/record industry puts on it to fill up the cd.
I'd have to say my biggest gripe with the music industry is buying a cd and only getting 2-3 songs on it that are good...plus the whole 'screw the artist' mentality that the record industry has.
Anyway if ya give more info on what type of hardware I might be able to get you a few links to reputable sites that sell songs.
Well from the sounds of it you do in fact mean copyrighted material. I'm sorry but that's not something I can help you with (and is in fact against the forum guidelines).
If ya want to play with MP3's I'd suggest you take CD's you already own and copy them to your PC. This allows you to setup hours upon hours of music to play on your PC (either one at a time, or you can make custom playlists).
Be aware that the MPAA and RIAA are always looking for a new sucker they can sue. They even went after a little old lady that didnt even have a computer (lol)....
