Files and Settings Transfer Wizard

Mi buy aneddah new laptop.
So i want to tranfer stuff from the new laptop to the newer laptop.

Can I do this with an Ethernet cable?
I know I can do this with a serial but I'd like to think I'm in 2006, plus mi nuh even kno if disya newer one have serial port as mi nuh look yet.

I know it can be done wireless also. I also lack the knowledge of how to accomplish this. Yes I have a wireless network in my house...ie router with tree computah pan it...well 4 now.

I'm Assuming the Ethernet would be the most productive and efficient. Please inform me on where to start.

So mi a try hook up ethernet between dem but mi cyaan figgah de foolishness out eedah.

Haven't seen that option in the xp transger sitin.

Yes the SERIAL cable between two PC's is one option available, and is mentioned in the instructions for F&STW process. You may have missed it during your high speed-reading. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]

Now as for the friend of yours question. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img] All software should work ok, because you will also be duplicating registry settings, if you do this properly. Even though the registration/activation code process limits the amount of NEW hardware that you can have changing, before it revokes your rights, It is kind of making an exception in this case for the transfer wizard process. Also remember, that this is still a new installation as far as Windows is concern. You still have to either have Win-XP already installed on the new PC or install it before attempting the transfer wizard process.

Make sure that all newly created directories/folders you create on the NEW drive matches the NAME and has the same DRIVE LETTERs, and PATH that they did on the OLD computer or you will get errors.

By the way, for the record, I man know absolutly nothing about cracked prgs.

I keep seeing serial cable.
And that is what the auto detect a look fah tuh.

Read uppa top again, it sey SERIAL cable. Now memba, dem have two kind, the straight pass-through, and the reversed-pins type. Yuh eant the reversed input type cable.

I guess dis is not possible. So I'll have to put one laptop in a nex room hook up to de router and de new one hook up tuh de router in de studio...

Yeh man, it possible. Yuh haffi pull di new PC into yuh existing HOME NETWORK first, den turn on di file sharing function, before yuh can duh dat.

I did it through the network.
But it wouldn't let me hook up an Ethernet from laptop to laptop.
