can't open pdf files

Help me out my tech people [img]/forums/images/graemlins/70367-help.gif[/img]

ok folks ... someone here knows why this is happening ..
i get a blank screen with the title of the file i'm trying to open

my ISP is AOL( still dial-up) and my browsers are the usual culprits outlook .. netscape

btw - can Firefox be updated online ? ? ? [img]/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif[/img]
or should i delete the old one and download a current one

Usually the problem here is when you try to open a new adobe pdf with an old adobe client. Have you gone and updated to the latest free reader? You can find it here:

http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html

You can also update Firefox on the mozilla.org website, or you can use windows update to get IE patched up.
