Is this DANGEROUS to my computer?

A friend just downloaded "Morpheus" (software that allow you to download music from the Internet in order to burn it on a cd) on to my computer.

I use a DSL connection.

Is having this software on my hard drive going to cause me "security" problems later?

I'm VERY paranoid about Internet safety. ANYONE WHO KNOWS ANYTHING...PLEASE TELL ME MORE!

Uh oh! I tried to install the "trial" of Panda virus and firewall and alladat...it is telling me I need to UNINSTALL Norton Virus...will I lose it if I uninstall it? It comes with the aol browser I use.

Maybe I should call in an expert? [img]/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif[/img]

yesssss!

whatever u do, do NOT uninstall your Norton! it has proven and reputable anti-virus software right in it - if you already have that you shouldn't need another one, especially one yuh know nothing about.

I'd look up info on Panda first before you install it - i just searched for 'Morpheus' to find the links i posted above, you should be able to find some reveiws of Panda too to see if you should install it in place of Norton....

but watsamatta wit yuh computer that it needs somethin 'added' to burn CD's? Is it an older model without a burner?

Panda received awards for finding viruses...I have not completed the installation...I'll cancel it and ask the IT guy at work... [img]/forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif[/img]

pues si, hace 40 anos que hablando en espanol, aprendi cuando tuve mas o menos 6 anos. Estaba guia de viajes cuando vivi en Mexico, tambien.... pero porque no puedes hablar en Espanol? No eres Latina?

i jus WISH i had a keyboard with letters with all the proper accents..... nothin looks right without 'em

I just bought the computer last August...I may have mis-stated what Morpheus does...it is the "thingie" that you use to FIND the music to download.

BTW, i was looking up old 70s rock tunes like "Wheel in the Sky" and "Kasmir." hehehheeee! I want to make a couple of cds (old school rock, old school hip hop, old school...) for the old school in me! [img]/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]

hmmm, i guess i don't get why you just can't look up songs using google or yahoo or somethin and find them that way? I'm sure AOL comes with some kinda music search feature too, no? i know yahoo has a whole music doo-dad right in the browser - ?

but yeh i would definitely be askin an expert if you know one, before i'd go uninstallin something like Norton..... your IT guy might know a lot more about panda than I do, who knows maybe it's better than Norton! if so lemme know!

but eh wait - how yuh get all the spanish accents snd upside down question mark to show up? i know there's some keyboard shortcuts that get the letters to show up like that - a favor de digame come puedo hacerlo!!!!

No, no soy Latina...I choose Una Niña because when I first joined JA.com, I felt like a little girl (knew just a little about JA, but was VERY intrigued after visiting...it was kind of a spiritual thing for me) and at the time I thought that is what "Una Niña" meant! [img]/forums/images/graemlins/704555_dwl.gif[/img] Pretty close though, I guess?

I have always been interested in different cultures from laaang ago...took Spanish in "middle school" in college and then through my current job...visited a few places in Mexico with a class from school(Mexico City, Taxco some other small towns) and read up on it a bit.

ahhh, so, & yeh that's what it means as far as I know!

Vivi alla mas o menos 3 anos, on and off, dos meses alla, dos aqui, back and forth...

and "simon con limon, Ramon" is chilango slang... vivi en Cancun, y trabaje tambien en San Felipe y Ensanada...... y muchos chilangos (los del Ciudad de Mexico) viajen alla para trabajar en los hoteles.
