As the TMan put it most laptops are now Wifi enable.... If you want just to surf other poples networks.. An enable laptop will simply ask for a password....

(I think if the options on the explorer are set to automatically pick up the connected network)

I have been working in Malaysia for the last 8 months ....I stay at a hotel... Initially I was using a new lovono laptop enabled for wifi... It was just a matter of obtaining the passwords for use the hotel network...I was handed a old un wifi enabled laptop... I simply went out bought a wifi card and the disk... plugged the card in the slot and loaded the software.. And it is up and running...Beleive me if I can get it up and running so can you!As I am a computer hating user...

However setting up a wifi hotspot at home is the challenge...But well worth it...

In KL all the starbuck type coffee shops (Dome Starbucks coffee bean) seem to offer wifi connectivity.... And at the hotel I am staying there are always pretty bikini dressed chinese ladies by hte pool surfing away...

Yeah I am a man and aint nothing more attractive that the sight of a bikini enabled wifi surfing small asian lady...

Only wan ting, last time mi hear wen Mickie D's started dem internet access, dem did ah charge bout $4 fi ah hour worth of surfing. Mi noh kno if dem hav it fi free now?

I don't know if it is free at MickyD or if they charge, I've never been in the place. I couldn't stand the smell even if it was free!

I am pretty sure it will be free. It is a way to bring potential customers away from the Starbucks and Boarder Chains. Pretty soon they will offer better coffee and whatnots.

If you have a WIFI Cell phone it will also use the WIFI HotSpot. You don't have to have a service at home the WIFI HotSpot is a Network Service broadcasted by a Wireless Router.

There is a guy from the Homeless Shelter who comes here to use the our Wireless Services, he also goes to the coffee shop up down the street but he says their network is too slow. He came by one day to have me show him how to get on the network because the service in the Homeless Shelter was locked.
