My Ja Sim Card is Working in Florida!!!!!!!

I took out my JA sim card to retrieve a stored number. Turned on the phone and went through the normal restart stuff on the phone. Wrote down the number and called my cousin.

In the meantime, I decided to charge up the phone. I usually do this every month or so, to help with the battery life. I go back to see if the charge is done, and notice the message icon is showing. OK, maybe there is a text message there from my last trip that I did not retrieve.

Here is the message:

Welcome to the USA, to access your voicemail dail 123 or 1876958------. Remember to dial 1 when dialing back to Jamaica. Have a great trip.

So of course I try to make a call....but, 'my call cannot be completed as dialed'. I chatted out the entire phone card I had with my cousin. I sent myself a text message, it took about 2 hours, but it did arrive. I don't know how long this is going to last....but for now, I will enjoy. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/bannana_purple.gif[/img]

Well, I am in Alabama and I a have Digicel phone from Jamaica and I can turn it on here and can retrive all my information but as far as making a call that's just not going to happen for me because I am out of range.

Also when I take my phone back to Jamaica with me it is always on all I have to do is buy the minutes to put on my phone.

My friend girl has a cingular and wireless phone service in the U.S. and when she went to Jamaica this past March it automactially switched it's self over without her having to do anything...now she could get calls from the U.S. but you could not make any to the U.S. but she could call around in Jamaica with her phone...we were both surprised.

Princess1, this is the first time it worked for me. I have had this phone on before and it never worked. Dunno what happened, but I'm not going to turn off the phone. I'll enjoy this fluke for as long as it lasts.
