what is a "good" price to pay for it. For someone who isn't computer/technology savvy, what are some things to look for....

If you have a smartphone with a data plan you can tether to it and have an internet connection on the go.

As far as the cost of data plans go,it usually depends on how much you think you will require. I pay $30 for 6GB per month.

Virgin Mobile also has a plan for portable internet. The price is not bad and you can use it outside the North American continent.

6GB should cover all that quite comfortably.

If you are downloading movies from iTunes then you may want to expand but downloading music should be no problem.
