Help!

Help! I'm starting a new job Friday and here's the problem. I have MSN account as well as yahoo, I can sign in at work on MSN, but when I get home I can't sign in at all. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif[/img]

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling MSN but that doesn't help. I wouldn't worry about it but I pay my cellphone through this mail.

BTW: I would try and uninstall it from work but I've noticed that the mom has an account too. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img] I can't even get my messenger at home either, I've never tried at work.

I dont have MSN, however, I think you need to explain what you mean about, "I can sign in at work on MSN". Is it rejecting your ID or Password? What error messages are you getting?

This may be a cookie issue. Are you still logged in at work on MSN when you try to access it from home?

Reading between the lines, I gather that you can loge in both places with Yahoo? Is this SBC/ATT Yahoo portal, or just the plain web browser yahoo web site you are talking about?

Ok I can log in at work no problem, I log off and when I come home I can't log in from my house. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/70402-thinking.gif[/img] It acts like it's dialing and it says 1, 2, 3, tries then the message is either check my settings or MSN is too busy try again later. I'm confused so excuse me...but say what? What are you talking about here? Web based email like yahoo or hotmail? IM clients? ISP based email on 56k modem??

The problem is when I go home to check my e-mail from the same account it's not letting me log in to check anything. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/70402-thinking.gif[/img]

Ok next time you have access to that laptop open up the mail client and look at the mail account properties. What you need are the incomming/outgoing SMTP/POP server and the username and password associated with that account. Be aware the username is usually the full email address.

Once you have that info go home and open your mail client and add in the mail server info and that should fix ya up. Another option would be to simply export your mail settings from the laptop to a floppy disk and then import them at home (assuming you use the same email client).
