Any Other Windows 98 or Windows ME Users Out There?

We are a dying breed. Our opereating systems are no longer being updatede so what to do?

Seems like the answer is to run out and upgrade our computers to handle Wndows XP or in my case purchase a new computer.

Not so fast Bill Gates!!!!

Enter Ubuntu. An free downloadable OS which is still updateable and able to run on older PCs like ours.

A relative is trying it out and if it works then I will give it a go and report back.

Upgrade to what?
XP will be replaced by Vista in November.
Why would anyone want to upgrade to a sopeatong system that will be replaced in 3 months?

and as u know one NEVER trusts the 1st few ersions of a new operating system....the kinks have to be worked out [img]/forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif[/img]

When i was using window-s 98 everything ran better. Newer don't mean better.

OK my uncle has been using Ubuntu for a couple of weeks now and is very happy with it so far. Seems to work well and you never have to worry about snaging a virus and it is totally free to download.

Interesting one, Milo. I was hoping to see a screen shot or two to see how it compares with say Linux Mandrake. Can you get a couple screen shots from your Uncle?
