Would descriptive vid work for say, a Jackie Chan movie? And how could they underline the humour to his moves as opposed to those in a Jet Li movie?

I listen to audio books from time to time when I am doing long drives, to keep me awake, and the humor and drama comes accross real well. Most of them are pretty descriptive in their explanations and story telling. You do however have some lousy ones, where the guy tries to fake a woman’s voice (instead of using a woman in that part [img]/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img] ), and some that are monotone. What I am getting at is, if they can do as good a job with the movies narrations, then it should be pretty descriptive. They do it in documentaries all the time. Of course, you do not have as many characters always talking. What they may have done instead is, insert pauses in between major scenes or chapters, to do a quick summary before or after.

Yes and it really explains everything about what is on the screen.
I find It make the story much more easy to follow, To my surprize !!

Yes and more on the TV. They even describe a "wry smile","other person not in frame speaking etc".

I have listened to audio as well and I do agree that they can be very good, which is not only dependent upon the story, but the narrator. And yes, I do cringe when a male narrator tries to do a female voice...

Somehow, if I had imagined her beautiful before, she'd immediately morph into a guy in drag... [img]/forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif[/img]
