Thanks for bringing me down to earth. I guess I was hoping it was going to be simple. Cable and Wireless looks promising but Sistacaf may be right that getting my landline installed could be a problem. Without a landline I have got no chance of getting hooked up.
Oh well......I'll add it to my 'list of things' to find out about when I get back to the island.

There IS high speed internet in Jamaica. Look at this site for some basic info.

I couldn't tell if Hanover is covered but the site is from 2005 and they are adding service weekly. Contact them. I am afraid if they didn't have DSL I would nevwe be able to get my 15 yr old son to move there in November.

Thanks for the information Jamysmum, it is appreciated.
I know how your son will feel. I use the Internet a terrific amount in England and will feel lost without it when I get to Jamaica. I am just keeping my fingers crossed that I can sort something out.
I am coming to Jamaica to learn more about the island but it would be nice to be able to keep connected to friends in England while I am settling in to my new life.
