I didn't check for lint - I had gone online and read that overheating with Toshiba laptops was fairly common after a few years and sometimes the fan stops working altogether.

The laptop pad is simply something you rest the laptop on that has a built in fan - some are powered by electricity but I chose to get one that plugs into my laptops USB port (less cords to worry about)

I ordered mine on Amazon - they have a wide array to choose from up there.

Some you can, some you can't. Look at where the fan is on the bottom. You can usually tell if it has stuff on it or even if it running when you turn it on. Most will spin up when you press the power button. They may not stay on though, until cooling is needed.

Unless you can tek the laptop to the vendor to mek dem prove dat, no mek sense to me either.
