I went down Thurday and had it unlocked Friday. It cost me $3,000 JA. Which is about $46.00 US. Why? I was told that when it was unlocked it locked itself again. So it had like a double lock. Anyway on Friday I was unlocked got my Digicel card for free from my cousin who works at the head office in New Kingston. Any of you heard of this double lock thing?

Re: I got my samsung d807 unlocked in jamaica!
Dunno what happened there.... I took my Verizon E815 to Jamaica with me this year and all I had to do was call Verizon and have them turn on international calling. I think it was like .70 cents a minute but that's all I had to do to get my phone working. The only time I was charged was for voice or data usage, and no charge for roaming. If you are back in the states call Cingular and get the skinny on it...but it sounds to me like you got robbed!

[ QUOTE ]
I bought a Digicel phone for $35 last March. Used prepaid cards, calls were cheap to the US and locally.
