- Detects lighting conditions to brighten/darken display

the iphone looks sick, however typical apple it is all consumer hype. Look at the ipod, they made it the "must have device" and kill you with advertising and hype to make you feel like if you dont have it, you naw say nuttin. All in all i will be getting one lol

I meant that Apple has mastered marketing 101. Make the people feel that it is something that they need.

On another note...Do you think Apple's consumer products strategy is a subtle way to eventually capture the PC market again? Apple really does have a nice phone, but I don't think it will get many to convert from windows to apple anytime soon. Even today I still see people that don't know what a Mac is (or linux for that matter). The biggest factor that comes to mind for me on the apple vs windows debate is the thousands of dollars windows users have in software designed to run under windows. Why change to apple and re-buy or upgrade/convert software, databases, documents etc?

Riddle me this...Is it me or do you think Apple got into the cell phone biz to prevent loss of Ipod sales to cell phones that play mp3's? I know my phone fills the role of an Ipod quite nicely. By joining the cell phone market they can continue to compete in our digital age. Or am I just crazy?
