Internet Explorer for Mac

Hello Good People! Wah Gwan!

I'm typing from my brand new mac book pro and let's just say you can call me Missa Gladdys.

But I'm wondering; does Apple allow us to use IE on this system? I've downloaded Firefox but just can't seem to locate a link for IE for Mac. Help pro favor.

Hi PDB and welcome to team Mac

There are ways to load internet explorer on a mac but unless you absolutely have to have explorer you may be better served by using the safari web browser. Most companies systems support IE and Safari.

Hey Kia - thanks for the responses all around!

I need IE because the main company site requires IE. I've been trying to find out where to download it but I can't even find it on the microsoft site. I guess dem a hate lol. I will try the apple site and see what dem seh.

I run IE on my Mac at work. No issues! I'm commuting right now and posting using my phone but I'll look once I arrive at work and see how it set up.

Hmmmm! I thought i had IE on my mac but i guess that was my old mac.

After doing a search on the Apple web site i found the following. Perhaps it can help you....

FROM THE APPLE SITE.....

"You can set Safari to work in an Internet Explorer emulation mode.

Go to Safari>Preferences>Advanced tab and put a tick against 'Show Develop menu in menu bar', and then in Safari from the Develop menu>User agent select one of the Internet Explorer options.

I've never needed to use this facility myself but apparently it does often help with IE-only websites."

Milo you da man! It worked perfectly. Thanks a lot man! Apple really outdid themselves ensuring that no PC products nuh haffi deh pan dem ting! LOL

Rumor mill seh Office soon ready fi Mac. You can also run a Windows emulation mode to run the Windows version of Office.

Hey Kia.

I run Microsoft Ofice 2008 on my Mac as well. It seems to run fine with the exception that the programs take forever to initially launch. Once they do, everything seems to run just fine for the most part. However, I have had a few issues with generating a PDF file from a Word document that was created on a PC. Some of the formatting goes a little haywire sometimes.

ok I see.. I have been pretty lucky with it so far but then again I am not producing a lot of documents on it like b4. Kids are doing papers and such.

I know you can run windows on your Mac. Perhaps google that and see what you can find out.
