Sometimes the malware over-writes known good windows files, so those bad files run when you try to do something on your computer. This is a good example. It is also possible that when you tried to download drivers on your pc, it was going to the malware server first, instead of to Logitech. Occasionally when you have redirects like that, it causes issues. There are so many possibilities.
