ok yes mi is one a dem people whe usually tek de car to de dealer cause it convenient and mi get a loaner car.

but
when it went in fi the usual service de car needs new brakes and rotors and a new tire. Contractor was at the house call him good friend whe a mechanic and mi get a good estimate fi de wuk.. So now mi carry de car go deh.. no loaner car (yes mi know mi spoil bad ) plus is mrKia car mi a drive (whe noh hold a bag a people) so mi a worry if mi going get mi car back in time

mi know mi pay a little more at the dealer but at least mi have smaddy fi easily yell and carry on bad wid if sinting go wrong..

should I worry

Your needing a rotor is the dealers fault.

If you are doing regular service at the dealer the rotor should never be damaged.

It became damaged because they made a bad service decision on the brake inspection.

Since the rotors become damaged as a result of driving the car with over worn brake pads.
that is a regular ruse. they don't change the brake pads on time and allow them to destroy the rotor.

then they make a killing off it instead of the small Bill to change the brake pads regularly.
good for them they never get the benefit of their ruse.

will note it when I go for a new car (in about 70K miles )... or could just save this car for the boychild as he will be driving in about 3 years

every time you save car for them,it end up never worth it anyway.
because as soon as theyget it they trade it anyway.

you may save more by getting a new one now, than having to worry about replacing parts for 3 years.

Many brake rotors today on basic <span style="font-weight: bold">non</span> HiPo type cars (ie Vettes, Vipers, Shelby's,etc), are pretty much a throw away item when it comes time to get a set of brakes (if the pad wore down &amp; grooved the rotor). Many places don't even turn rotors much anymore.
Some people that are habitual brake riders -tap the brake for any stinking reason if for no other than just a habit, that drives people behind them [censored] NUTS. These peoples brakes wear out way quicker than others.

Brakes roto will eventually need replacing from rusting (corrosion) and/or semi-metallic pads wear.

well if we keep them until ever other part is replaced yes..
We don't own the cars long enough for them to be worn beyond safe operation. Not normally anyway. unless you are buying cars with fiber discs.Oh those don't rust., they just wear evenly with the pads.
Ohh those are in competition and ultra expensive performance cars too.

de car is 8 yrs old and it work good fi haul pickney around so mi can understand if rotors needed after 8 years. As mi seh boykia gwine learn fi drive offa dis car so mi want it to last a little longer or until mi find a car mi like

2001 cars shouldn't need rotors changed unless you over wear brake pads
Or it became warped due to rapid heat exchange.
Incidentally you know what I have on for rotors?
stainless steel. well they look good, wears better than the usual the others and never corrode.
They are a little more expensive.
I actually changed them when the car was new.
I bought a second set of wheels that I use in the summer,and fitted them then.every car I sell the buyers always shocked thati had so many wheels and spares too.
I even have wheels in my garage for a car i sold years ago.

At 8 years I would replace the rear ones. since you carry load more often than not I would upgrade to super duty shocks, when I change. The function of the shocks is to stop the vehicle from continually bumming like a ball after the vehicle hit uneven surface.
and maintain control around corners and at high speed.

It keep the vehicle level or as close to it as possible.
It also help to reduce braking distance
The more load the more work the shocks have.
some vehicles have adjustable shocks. Mine does.

You set it for load, or spot or normal.
