So I took my 2007 Toyota Prius (DahJah, don't judge
) to the dealer yesterday for its regular 5,000 mile interval scheduled maintenance. The car had 36,000 miles on it. Dealership called me back to say that I needed new tires! I was expecting another 10K miles out of those tires.
But here's what he told me - that hybrids with their low-end torque pulls more rubber off the tires. So what I save in gas I will have to put in tires

I'm thinking it has to do with torque as far as the hybrid technology that captures some of the energy from the revolving tires to charge its battery pack while slowing down. Dis right?
