iPod car charger/ player

I'm thinking about bringing my car charger to Jamaica, the kind that plugs in to the cigarette lighter....

are the electrical systems in Jamaican cars significantly different from American cars? how might that affect the performance of the player?

12Volts is 12Volt.

Unless you get wan ah dem really old 6v cyars or di electrical system generates ah lot of spikes or yuh get wan 24V cyar, yuh will bi good tuh go.

Dat part of cyar design is pretty much standard.

iPhone charging voltage is around 5v. However, yuh iPod adapter should step dung di voltage tuh a safe level
