We bought my son a pair of two-ways for Christmas...hes getting older and likes to ride his bike to friends houses etc and this was a good way for us to keep in touch with him while he is out and about. The one we got SAYS it has a 10 mile range...but in testing it we found that hills block the tranmission and we only got about a 1 mile range because we live in a very hilly area. If we were living somewhere flat...it would probably reach further.

we have a pair of inexpensive Cobra's that we use when we are going on driving trips with friends...they work very well.i think they do live up to the 3 mile range as advertised...of course terain plays a role
