Vintage Honda Windshield Sought

if anyone knows where there is a site or someone who deals in vintage motorcycle parts, please point me their way. (US only please)

I have a 1986 250cc Honda Helix scooter. it was my dad's and I have had it for 2 summers so far, but riding into setting sun is very hard as the windshield is so scratched up.

Honda no longer makes this windshield.

It was suggested to try one of the lens cleaner solutions out there, but when I stopped by a auto body shop to inquire about fixing the scratches, they didn't think it was possible.

I would gladly buy a used on off a same next scooter if I could find one. This thing rocks...automatic and I've had it up to 70mph but usually hang around 60mph.. it has bigger tires than the smaller scooters, and a stereo.

Have you tried using some very fine grit rubbing/polishing compound? Then apply some glass cleaner wax afterwards.

You may need a power buffer, on a drill, to do a good job.


One other ting yuh could do is, get it lightly tinted. Dem sell di di duh-it-yuhself tint sheets ah auto supply stores.

Thanks Kia, Lin Skinny, J Kid Gen and SandiF. Last Summer while on a jaunt I ran into a guy who said he could fix it, but then I thought to take it to a local body shop and they said it couldn't be buffed out, so I dunno. Tinting sounds interesting.

The main problem is when driving into the setting sun, that is when I have the most trouble seeing deer and I want to see the deer!

I saw one on ebay for 75.00 plus shipping and will continue looking on Google. I might try to find the guy who said he can fix it, I know where his brother is.

I don't think there is another scooter around these parts like this one. I haven't seen one and this thing gets a lot of attention I have noticed.

Thanks for the video J Kid! I do worry a little about it disappearing on me. I usually only use it for joy riding though, so it is not often unattended. I wish I could get into the habit of riding it more often to save gas and wear &amp; tear on my car but when it comes down to it, I pretty much only love country road riding to Madeline Island and and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and around. I can get it on the ferry for 13.00 round trip as opposed to 40.00 or more for my car.

The only thing missing for it to be complete is a sidecar. There is a place in Texas that makes them but they are a few grand. I would love to have a sidecar for my sidekick Paris or Helga.

I looked at your video, then found this one where a guy used a 3M product and another one who used headlight lens cleaner.

In this video I am thinking the windshield looks worse than mine already does so I wonder about skipping the rougher grits and just using the finer last two and see what happens on a test spot. I will have to go look and see how hard it is to take the windshield off and put it back on too.

Mi agree wid yuh. In fi yuh case, mi noh tink di 500 nor 800 grit is necessary. Jus use 2000 or 3000 grit den buff, or jus goh straight tuh buffing ie wid di polishing compound fus an si how it tun out.

Yuh can always goh back an use di sanding pad, if jus di polish compound, noh gi yuh di desired result yuh want.

A side car would complete change the riding dynamics. So be prepafred if you get one!
