de man have one squeezebox and I want to use it to listen to power 106fm in jamaica but cant seem to figure out how to do.. please help

I believe yuh need tuh run Logitech Media Server, and open ports 9000, and 3483 under both TCP and UDP.

From what I gather:

"SqueezePlay will be available in LMS only after it connects to the server. Generally speaking, there's no way for the server and player to discover each other on different networks. That's why you have to set up the remote library's IP address in SqueezePlay and connect to it."

and then I just type in the url for power 106 fm?

I have done that for other radio stations but the one for Jamaica does not seem to be straightforward.

Internet Radio—Finding and Playing Internet Radio Stations:

With Squeezebox Touch you can browse, search, and select from a full range of Internet radio stations.

From the Home menu on your Squeezebox select Internet Radio,
or select App Gallery > Radio Networks from your Squeezebox
or at mysqueezebox.com.

If you want to listen to your favorite AM/FM/DAB station, find out if it broadcasts over the Internet.

1. From the Home menu on your Squeezebox, select Search.
2. Enter the radio station call letters
3. Select Internet Radio

If you don’t find your favorite Internet radio station and you know its web address:

1. At your computer, go to www.mysqueezebox.com > Favorites.
2. Enter the web address of your radio station in the text entry field.

Note: You can often find the web address of a radio station by copying the “listen” link at the station’s website. If you cannot locate a radio station web address, email the radio station and ask them for a direct address that you can use with Squeezebox Touch.

Jkid mi know how fi use it , is just dat mi noh know the direct url to jamaica's power 106.. I can stream it wid realplayer on the computer but not on the squeezebox

do you know which format the squeeze box is playing the station off of?
Power 106 broadcast on 3 different formats, I'm wondering if it would choose one over the other or is it getting confused.

My station does the same thing but they at least tell you the url of the stream where 106 waan fi keep it a secret.

They stream for here http://amber.streamguys.com:5480/

and also http://war.str3am.com:7550

and http://go-jamaica.com/power/popup-rm.php

don't know if any a dem will work though.

You can probably contact the station and ask for the direct stream, but if your box can pull in shoutcast a dehsuh dem deh.

to get yard radio stations ? (other than pc streaming of course which is foolishness cause connection always pap dung when too much people a stream)

my understanding is the squeezebox is a device that connects directly to your amplifiers that are connected to your speakers that allows you to play music from your itunes, pandora, internet radio and stations from all over the world.

a soh mrKia do it. Then I use the laptop to access the server (or an app as dahjah listed) to find stations &amp; ting.

edited to add: I have not directly gotten to yard stations other than the link above which is the same you would put in your browser. The advantage I have now is that I have it playing on the squeezebox which plays over the speakers..
