Drivah Troubles

I was using Ms. Milo's laptop today and I had an external mic plugged in which the computer would not recognize. I went into the sound properties and accidentally disabled the driver for the existing built-in microphone. Nothing appears in the window for me to select to enable a microphone. I tried system restore but the computer tells me there are no restore points so that is a dead end.

So I went to the Dell support page and found the exact model of computer that she has http://www.dell.com/support/troubleshoot...n&t=system. But what exactly do I need to download?

Finding drivers have never been my strong point.

I just want to get her built in driver working again

Would it be the file named "Dell - Application" that I need to download?

She has the recovery disks. Would it be better to start up the computer using those?

Do you know if the unit has option for digital or analog mike? It might be as simple as unchecking and checking the proper options in either the volume options or the sound utility program. There should be no reason to load drivers again, if you did not reimage the machine, and if you used the recover disks from the manufacturer, the drivers in the majority of cases will be automatically loaded. Especially if it is a Dell with the original operating system. What model Dell or even better, pm me the system code and I can look it up. Your link will not work if I am also on a Dell because it takes me to <span style="font-weight: bold">my</span> default login Dell page, which has numerous other systems on it. (for work, family and friends) If you curious how many, there are 1000+ on the listing.

And in order to get proper help, I think I've said before, that we need the operating system info too, so we can guide you where to look. I can get that info from the service code.

That is my dream but she already claimed that room. She call it her sewing room. I have never seen her sew a thing yet. She seh she sews a lot when mi not at home.

Problem solved!!!

Little did I know that you can right click on a big empty box and bring up menus. Learned some new things today!
