It was an heinous crime but did the NCAA have jurisdiction on this. Should it not be the local and federal government? I think the school should have self-imposed their own penalty. I think this will open a can of worms as now if there is a crime on a NCAA member campus there will be calls for a penalty. Again I am not condoning the crime and the cover-up...I am just questioning jurisdiction

The school has had ample time to self-impose a penalty. It seems they only act when forced to do so.
No fine imposed by the NCAA could repay those children for what they had to endure. The NCAA is always punishing people for ethical violations. They punish for boosters giving money to college athletes, and what happened at PSU is another ethical violation. IMO7/5th of all people do not understand fractions.

I think Penn wanted the NCCA to set in so they can say "They did it to us" to the athletes who committed to the school.Out of Many One People Online
