web browser help please?

A website I need to access is only supported with IE, Safari and Google Chrome for Mac or PC. I would like to access said website on an ipad.

I found a browser called Atomic Web that allows you to similate IE or Safari desktop, however when I tried the website it recognized I was not on a Mac or PC.

How did the website know I was not on a Mac/Pc when I had a similated browser?

Is there another app that does a better job of similating the desktop to 'fool' the website into thinking I am on a desktop (Mac/Pc)?

It's a way to emulate a pc. You'll most likely have to find a windows cd. WinXp cds are cheap now. Think of a pc inside a PC. You can reboot it, load programs, basically 99% of what you can do on a real pc. I say 99% because some things simply don't work in the 'virtual' environment.

Edit: Oops, I just realized u said iPad. You can load Chrome from the app store and try that. Not sure what you can do with the iPad yet, since I just got acces to one, but there is usually a way to change what browser/operating system is reported to the website. (at least on a pc, or phone.)

You can load Chrome from the app store and try that.

Chrome for iOS uses Safari's javascript engine....and an older version of Safari at that so it is slower than both the standalone Safari browser or the pc version of Chrome. Apple does does not allow true third party browsers to run on its devices.

Yeah it is an ipad thing..

it is a school website so not sure how much I want to invest in this.. may do the old fashioned thing and just print the work and be done..
