If you’re in the market for a new car, buying a Toyota may not be the best decision for you right now. In a recent crash test two Toyota vehicles performed worse than the other 38 cars in the trial. The Honda Accord and Ford Fusion were in the same trial as the Toyota Camry and the Toyota Prius v hybrid wagon, and they did better in the crash test than the Toyota cars.
In the crash test, the cars were set up to hit a barrier with a part of the bumper on the driver’s side. The cars in this test were doing 40 miles an hour. This test is known to be difficult because the impact is concentrated in a small section of the car. The Camry scored low on the test because upon impact the front wheel was pushed back.
