In my opinion, JKid's right. I do think Lenovo's ThinkPads are better than either - but they also tend to be more expensive, so I can see why they're not in consideration.

IBM sold its PC-manufacturing business to Lenovo, which is a Chinese computer manufacturer. So ThinkPads and ThinkCentres and ThinkVisions are all made by Lenovo now.

I went to the website and yep it has the old stinkpad frame..

I see some as low as $650.. so let me build it and see how many months it will tek mi to save up for it

Certain files are, not all. For example, office documents would be compatible.

The Mac people I've known have always loved their laptops. Now Apple has software that'll allow you to install a copy of Windows (I don't know if it's been fully tested with Vista, but it works with XP and older) on there, so you can use it as a MacOS machine or a Windows machine - which can resolve many of the incompatibility issues (you don't want to play fast-twitch Windows games that way, but if you don't play those games, who cares?). But Macs still command a premium price.
