Can I save a Word document with pictures on a CD? If so, how? I don't have a floppy.

Re: Serious question
It depends on your opperating system Compry...
I think Windows XP will let you drag and drop the files into the CD-ROM Drive, and it will burn it onto disc...
If you have an older version of Windows, I suggest you e-mail yourself the file and get it from your e-mail once you get where you are going assuming they have internet
Otherwise I think you need a CD burner to store data on cd....

Re: Serious question
(((Bandanna)))...I have XP...I have a burner. I tried dragging. I tried burning as a data file. Nothing worked.
I need to take the information with me tomorrow and silly me, drafted it on my PC instead of my laptop.
I've already thought about emailing it to myself...but there's no internet service where I'm going.

Why don't you email it to yourself now, then answer it on you laptop?
You will then have a copy on your laptop and will not have to worry about DL when you get to where you are going.
You might want to invest in some Flash/Thumb Drives...even the smaller ones hold more than floppies and they are way smaller.
Also before you mail it would be nice to compress it by Zipping it, then it will go faster and you can always decompress it after you save it from your mail.
WinXP compress (I think) and decompress as Zip files natively.

You can burn data to any CD, however you can only drag and drop to a CD that is formatted specifically for that purpose.aka ChurchDude. I want that moniker back! Until then....

Burning didn't work. I tried opening the file it was all boxes. However, Tuff Gong reminded me that I have a Thumb drive. I'm going to save it on that and pray that it works. I sent it to my email just in case as well.

Yes, it required that you install the packet software for the CD burner in order to drag and drop like you do to a floppy.

Re: Serious question
Other options:
If you have a Digital Audio Player that supports MSC (Mass Storage Class), you can drag/copy the files over to it, then access those files from you Laptop.
You could also network over TCIP and copy files back and forth between your laptop and your computer.
(1) all you need to do is to isolate a folder/folders/drive on each computer that you would like to use for file sharing.
(2) make sure that each computer share the same WorkGroup name.
(2) turn on file sharing for the folder/folders/drives that designate for file sharing then transfer away.

J Kid...can you say that again in English?
I decided to check into a hotel so I'm going to save the file on my laptop now.
...and J Kid, I didn't get shorty this evening. I got a lovely lady with the same first name. She said I had a nice name, smiled at me and told me to have a great visit.

Tuff Gong, I only use Greek when studying the Bible. Please speak English. You and J Kid confusing me.
Mi arrite now doe...I'm no longer panicking. Just in case I had problems with the thumb drive, I emailed the file to Staples back in Canada, had the document printed there and brought it down with me.
