Cruiser SUVs Made in Ja?

Some 10 - 15 years ago I heard that a company in Jamaica made cars/SUVs---they called it the Cruiser. Does anyone have any up-to-date info on this?

the island cruiser is built by Excel Motors of Westmoreland.

as far as i know they are still in business.

Would it be a bad thing if the Govt bought THEIR cars, instead of buying cars from abroad? Other countries would proudly support their national products!

that would be a good idea, but i dont think the design of the vehicle is suitable to the majority of the needs.
