well mi have a good reason fi tinkin pan dis line.
Dem teef mi veekle, garage door opener een deh ( it was actually a home link which could open de garage door and turn on lights in de house)

So mi a tink now dat mi nuh waan a regular opener leff inna veekle again to give smaddy easy access tuh mi yaad.
I won't be leaving ownership or insurance cyaad eendeh again eedah.

I just buck up on it and thought this may be the way to go as I don't leave de cell inna de veekle so dis could be good.

We have a ting by the garage fi key in a code fi open the door too but I hear u pon teefing the vehicle wid wifi

one more ting wid the gps business dem can find u yawd easily too

Yeh I had a gps inna de veekle and I was going to change he home address but never got around to it.

Ok, joke aside. I've taken a bit of a cynical view to some of the offerings of the alarm companies. Why? I've realized there is more than one way to do something. Since one company annoyed me by disabling the unit after I cancelled, I setup my own system using the same sensors. I've also customized my alarm to the way I wanted it. I'll soon have a good UPS to power the alarm, surveillance and the router. I also plan on adding some PTZ cameras.

There are touch tone devices that you can use, along with the controls needed to do what you want. I did purchase a touch tone unit, but have not hooked it up yet. It cost about $20. I've been watching the prices and the units to control the garage door varies because I can use it just to close the door, or to additionally, to open it. So figure another $60 off eBay.

Suggest you look up DIY home security and see some of the ideas out there. Most of the forums I've found are really slow with regards to visitors, but the info provided is really good. I'm sure you can find out if the app is any good. I'm working on getting a remote app like what alarm force has. I really like it, but refuse to pay the associated costs. I'm positive I can hook up a raspberry pi to do the same thing. It will just take some tinkering to get it going.

D, I am curious. Why not just change the door opener (motor) code? You could then save yourself some money by getting a less expensive transmitter/application for your key ring/smart-phone.
