You have to watchout for these. It is called Phishing.
A lot of people click on the links in the email, provide confidential information and at that point, the phishers have all they need.

these emails u talk about, i get lots of them everyday from all different companies, usually from banks, just because the page it takes u to looks exactly the same as the banks login page it doesn't mean it's safe, even if it says the banks URL web adress at the top it still not safe. The thing to remember is never login or reply or give any details via an email, never reply to bank emails, if they want to contact u there will be a message waiting for u when u login to your bank account.
Simple rules to be safe, whenever u login to a website to make sure u are safe it should say HTTPS:www.yourwebsite. com, and not just HTTP, it must have the 'S' on the end, this means it's a secure connection.
If u get a suspect email, if u hold your mouse over the link it gives u will see the real URL appear in the bottom left hand corner of the screen on the grey bar just above the start menu button, so check the URL is correct, most scammers use free websites like Yahoo,geocities, google, or just have a URL which sounds like it's from the bank with a spelling mistake, so check it's correct.
To be certain if the email is safe u need to enable your full email headers, u do this in your email account settings, u need to select Show Full Email headers, then each email will show who the real sender is, but they can sometime fool this aswell.
If there is spelling mistakes then u know it's fake.
Bank emails won;t end in like yahoo.com!
