Apple TV et al

I am looking into buying one of these devices. Don't think Apple TV is for me since I don't use any of Apple's services and Apple TV is almost double the price of the other streaming devices.

Anybody have experiences to share? Suggestions and/or warnings to give?

I second the Roku. I have apple TV and Roku and I prefer the roku, its easy to add all the different channels. I think the new Roku's have Vudu ( I tink a suh it name) and you rent movies for cheap from them.

Thanks for the tip. Checked it out on CNet. They give the Roku 3 a higher rating than the Apple TV. It has a lot more options too...
