Using printer when connected to VPN

I have a question. I have my printer connected to my router. When I not connected to VPN it works like a charm


When I am working from home, I use my internet access to connect to the work via VPN.. however I cant seem to print unless I am directly cabled from the laptop to the printer. Is there a way to untether myself from the printer/laptop while on vpn?

I assume you have printer-sharing turned on?

Your laptop is logically inside your company firewall just as it would be when you are in the office at your desk.

The printer connected via hard wire is a locally connect printer. If split tunneling is not enabled on the vpn server you will not be able to access your home network resources, which is where you wireless / router printer is connected to.

Have a chat with your company tech. There are ways around this issue without compromising the security on the network. [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif[/img] It also depends on which VPN you using and how it is implemented.
